When your family’s future, your reputation, or your business is on the line, you don’t just need a lawyer- you need a strategist who treats your case with the gravity it deserves.
When the Stakes Are High, Strategy Matters
Some legal situations are inconvenient. Others are life-changing. If you’re facing a custody battle for your child, navigating the aftermath of a serious injury, protecting a business you’ve spent years building, or defending your reputation against a false and damaging claim – you are in the second category. These are the moments that define what comes next, and they demand more than a firm that processes files.
Brandy M. Austin founded Brandy Austin Law Firm, PLLC in 2013 with a specific vision: to build a litigation practice where preparation is non-negotiable, strategy is deliberate, and clients are never an afterthought. More than fifteen years and hundreds of contested matters later, that vision drives every case the firm takes.
Brandy’s clients come to her when they’ve realized that what’s at stake is too important to leave to chance, or to a high-volume firm where their story gets lost in a stack of files. She represents individuals, families, and business owners across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and throughout Texas in matters involving personal injury, high-conflict family law, civil litigation, business disputes, defamation, and probate and estate planning.
Why This Work
Brandy grew up understanding that access to skilled legal representation isn’t guaranteed, and that the gap between having strong advocacy and going it alone can determine the outcome of someone’s life. That understanding shaped why she chose trial work, and why she chose to build a firm rather than join a firm.
Legal disputes rarely affect only legal rights. They affect families, financial security, reputations, and futures. Brandy approaches each case with that reality in mind, not just as a set of claims and defenses to manage, but as a consequential situation that deserves real attention from someone who will fight hard and think strategically on your behalf.
What Clients Experience
Working with Brandy Austin Law Firm means your case will be prepared as if it is going to trial, because often, that preparation is exactly what forces a favorable resolution before one is necessary. It means direct communication with your attorney, not just with support staff. It means a lawyer who has stood in front of juries, cross-examined witnesses, and handled the moments where cases are won or lost.
From securing a child’s safety in high-conflict custody battles, to protecting a business owner’s rights when a partner relationship breaks down, to standing beside an injury victim when an insurance company refuses to act in good faith – the firm’s work is measured by the outcomes that actually matter to the people it represents.
Practice Areas
The firm represents clients in the following areas:
- Personal Injury
- High-Conflict Family Law
- Civil Litigation
- Business Law & Business Disputes
- Defamation (including crisis consultation outside Texas)
- Probate & Estate Planning
The firm serves Dallas, Tarrant, Denton, Parker, Ellis, and Johnson counties. Personal injury, defamation, and business law matters are handled statewide throughout Texas.
A Deliberate Practice – Built Around You
Brandy Austin Law Firm intentionally limits its caseload. This is not a standard disclaimer, it is the structural commitment that makes everything else possible. Because the firm accepts a carefully selected number of matters each year, every client receives Brandy’s direct attention and the level of preparation that complex litigation actually requires. Your case will never be handed off or deprioritized.
Courtroom Experience & Track Record
Brandy has substantial courtroom experience including multiple jury trials, dozens of contested hearings, and hundreds of depositions. Among her notable matters: she obtained a complete defense verdict in Bonilla v. Higginbotham (153rd District Court, Tarrant County), a two-week defamation trial involving allegations of sexual exploitation within the hairstyling industry. The jury returned a unanimous verdict for the defense, allowing the defendant’s blog to remain online – a result that garnered national attention in the context of #MeToo-era litigation.
She is admitted to practice in the State Bar of Texas and all three federal district courts in Texas: the Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts.
Recognition
Brandy has been recognized by independent organizations that evaluate attorney performance, peer reputation, and client outcomes, not by self-nomination:
- Super Lawyers (2023-2026) – awarded to fewer than 5% of attorneys in each state based on peer nomination and independent research
- Super Lawyers Rising Stars (2015-2021)

Education
Brandy earned her Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law, where she competed in moot court and was a finalist in the Naman Howell Smith & Lee Client Counseling Competition. She earned her undergraduate degrees, a B.A. in English and Political Science, magna cum laude from East Carolina University, graduating in the top 10% of her class as a first-generation college graduate.
Community Involvement
Brandy is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and serves on the Board of the YMCA Cooper Street. She is a member of Leading Edge of Leadership Fort Worth and has participated in board shadowing through the Center for Transforming Lives. It’s the same instinct that brought her to this work in the first place.
