Thinking Of Immigrating To The United States?

and we’re going to talk about immigration and all things related to immigration not all things because you know we want to keep it somewhat short but we have a lot going on and it’s virtual vacation day which is great good Friday we should get a room in the office black it out and use it for daily virtual vacations

We could do that. That’s an idea. She’s like, you’re reaching, but okay. I appreciate your enthusiasm. Oh, man. Okay. What do we… You can see all the back end stuff. How fun. Okay. I’m going to say welcome again. Okay, here we go.

Hello! Happy Friday Facebook and YouTube. I am Brandy Austin and I’m here with… Jonna. Hi! This is… Veronica. Alright, welcome to Disclosure Live with Brandy Austin Law. Today we’re going to discuss a few different things about immigration. But as promised, we have two big announcements. And we’re going to do our opening segment first.

So stick around after the opening bit so that we can talk about what our announcements are, and then we’ll get into a little law stuff. Well, happy Friday to Facebook and to YouTube. Anyone on Facebook, if you prefer to use YouTube, it’s new to us, and we really, really want people to subscribe. So go to our YouTube channel, subscribe. I think the button’s going to be over there or over there. Or there or there. Yeah.

But, so today, we have three events to celebrate. We have National Virtual Vacation Day, which is my favorite. We were just discussing it on YouTube. So what exactly does that mean? So, I’m going to read a little bit of this. Basically, there was a gentleman that came up with this idea, and I think there’s even a whole society for it.

He decided that since vacations are expensive, but they’re good for your heart and your soul and they relax you and they make everything in life so much better. He came up with this day where you close your eyes, go into a dark room, you calm down.

And you take yourself on a virtual vacation. And I think they’ve even started to include VR sets and things. So virtual reality is kind of like what you use on Snapchat. Snapchat’s augmented reality. So virtual reality completely submerges you into the world.

of something else. I assume you can just select whatever vacation you would like, right? Yeah, the beach or snowy mountain or something like that. So I guess you gotta turn the heat up in the room or make it really cold so it feels like you’re there. Yeah, or if it’s summer and you’re in your backyard you can just… In Texas it’ll feel like, you know, lava.

What else we got? So we have National Doctors Day as well. This day was established to recognize physicians, their work, and their contributions. So tell your doctors thank you. And then National Take a Walk in the Park Day. So it’s kind of the same as the virtual. So what you’re saying is that we need to meditate in different formats. Yeah. Okay. We need to relax.

So for National Doctors’ Day, I would like to say that we do work with a lot of doctors with our personal injury cases, and we are thankful that they are out there. So thank you to, was it physicians or? All doctors. All doctors. Physicians, chiropractors. Thank you. All of them. Thank you very much. Okay, so let’s take a walk in the park, and then after that…

Let’s talk about some local news. Right? So, you know more about this than I do. Yes. So, Arlington is in the midst of this competitive battle to get this new gaming world basically brought to our city. Let me tell you, Las Vegas has been doing a lot with the e-gaming. Is that what they call it? E-gaming. Okay. So, Las Vegas has…

has received so much money and funding and sponsors and all this stuff for events to be held there. And so bringing it to Arlington is a huge revenue boost for the community. So it would go great with the sports complex that we’re currently in the midst of building with the Rangers and the Cowboys and all of the things up there. There’s going to be shops and hotels. If they had this e-gaming facility,

complex or park. I’m not really sure the details of it. When I saw the picture of what they wanted, it’s an arena type thing. It’s a huge building and I really don’t know what’s going to go in there. Veronica, do you know what gaming is? Not really. I’ve seen there’s competitions about it and all that, but I’m not so into that. I’m not…

An expert. So it’s video gaming and competitions for video games, which I know you’re like, why don’t kids go outside these days, right? Well, you know, this is what we have. So video games are big. Video games can bring a lot of money and a lot of people to the area. So I think it would be great for the community, honestly. And one other thing.

There is a package thief on the loose in Arlington. Yes, there is. There is a woman they caught on tape stealing packages from people’s doors. Like, she just walks up, takes the package, and walks away. And I was just reading the best thing to do is contact your carrier. If you use Amazon or whoever, UPS, just contact them and give them instructions on what to do with your package because she is on the loose and out there to get your packages. Mm-hmm. So…

And neighbors, if you see some random person walking up to your neighbor’s house and picking up a package, the quickest way that these people are going to be caught is if someone is diligent and calls the police and says, hey, you remember that package thief that was on the news? I just saw her. And give them your address and they will come get her and they won’t have to worry about it anymore. So make sure to insure your things too.

That makes it easy. Yeah. Okay. So our big first announcement, Jonna is helping us spearhead the whole thing. So why don’t you tell us a little about it? So it is the firm’s fifth anniversary. Five years. Five years. And we are going to celebrate on May 2nd from 3.30 to 5.30. 6.30. 6.30. Okay. And we also have the ribbon cutting at 4.30. That’s right.

And we are going to do it in the theme of Cinco de Mayo, kind of. So it’s going to be called Cinco de Val. This is our fifth anniversary. It’s the week of Cinco de Mayo. And pretty much everyone here loves tacos.

Yes, so tacos, dips, all sorts of things. So it’s open to the community. We just ask that you let us know that you’re going to come somehow. You can send us a Facebook message. A lot of you will get invitations. You can reply and say yes, you will be coming. That way we have enough margaritas and tacos to go around for everyone. It’s just our way of saying thanks to everyone in the community for supporting us over these past five years.

We’ve grown from 1 1⁄2 to 14 or 15-ish. I’m not sure. Depends on the day. 14, 15, 16. So we’re just really excited to have a big celebration. So on to our second announcement. You may be saying, who is this person sitting over there?

Well, we are welcoming Veronica. And Veronica does a little immigration and other things, but she’s practiced immigration for a while. And you may say, why would I hire an immigration attorney at a general practice firm? Or why would I use a general practice firm? Well, the great news is each one of us here focus our practice on specific areas or specific things that we do. And then we kind of work together. So it’s a team environment.

with people who focus on that area. So you get the best of all areas of law with someone dedicated to that practice. So without further ado, I’m going to turn it over to Veronica, if you’ll just tell a little about yourself and what you’re doing here and all the good stuff. Thank you. Thank you for having me here today. My name is Veronica Montemayor. I am a bilingual attorney. I’ve been practicing for four years, primarily in immigration law, and I’m very excited to be part of

of the team here, so thank you for having me.

All right, so let’s talk about immigration a little bit. She is going to work on business and bankruptcy type things because, you know, that’s fun too, right? Of course. But immigration is what she’s done and focused her personal practice on.

So let’s talk about some famous people that are immigrants that you won’t think of. And remember, Canadians are immigrants too.

OK. So Veronica, let’s talk about immigration. What does an immigration attorney do?

So an immigration attorney helps to navigate clients through the complex laws of immigration…

and we’re going to talk over the next several months about immigration issues…

figure it out. So, all right. And that’s our show for March 30th, 2018…

The wall. Don’t forget YouTube. Bye, YouTube. Thank you.
