It goes without saying that getting paid for your work is essential to your company.  The Brandy Austin Law Firm, PLLC attorneys can help contractors and sub contractors collect on debts owed by your customers.  Unfortunately, it is common for businesses to not pay for the services that you provide them, and when that happens, you need aggressive attorneys willing to pursue these businesses.  At the Brandy Austin Law Firm, PLLC, we utilize all of the tools at our disposal to collect the money owed to you.  Sometimes all that is required for these businesses to pay what is owed to you is a demand letter.  If a demand letter does not get the business’s attention, we will file a lawsuit and obtain a judgment on your behalf.  At this point, many businesses will be willing to make payment, or set up a payment plan to pay off the judgment.

If the business is still unwilling to pay its debt, the business collections attorneys at the Brandy Austin Law Firm, PLLC have a number of tools that we can use to enforce the judgment.  We can request a writ of execution from the court. A writ of execution commands the county constable to take possession of the business’s non-exempt property.  The constable will then sell the property and deliver the sale proceeds to be applied toward the judgment.

Another tool that we can use is a writ of garnishment.  A writ of garnishment is issued against the business’s bank accounts, and freezes the funds in those accounts.  Those funds are then used to satisfy all or part of the judgment.

The attorneys at the Brandy Austin Law Firm will zealously pursue collection of your debts. Many times, the simple threat of a lawsuit is enough to get these businesses to pay their debt.  If the threat is not enough, we will pursue all legal avenues available on your behalf to make sure you are paid for your work.  If you have businesses that are refusing to pay you what you are owed, please call 817-841-9906 to set up a free consultation with our business collection attorneys.
